The workaround is usually faster than the proper way

A listing broke. Not a small one: it sat on one of the biggest accounts we managed, and while it was down, the account’s inventory score kept sliding. The team did the normal thing. They opened a ticket and waited for support.

I had spent a year doing every role in that business, and somewhere in that year I had stopped seeing the seller dashboard as a set of forms. It is a system, and systems have side doors. I asked for authority to try, and I got the listing back up in about an hour.

The lesson is not “be a hero.” The lesson is that the proper way is a queue, and the queue does not care about your inventory score. Learn how the thing actually works underneath, and you stop being a person who waits.
